April 1976. Uberaba Sport Club was presided over by Vadi Lacerda and coached by Renê Pinto. The team had finished first ...in Group B of the Minas Gerais Cup and dreamed of a spot in the Brazilian Championship, which it did that same year.
Considered the best team in the interior of the state, USC had the Uberaba stadium, still new and modern by the standards of the time. For all this, it earned a three-page spread in Placar magazine, featuring this image of the 19-man professional squad, photographed on the field at Boulanger Pucci Stadium (the photographer was Célio Apolinário).
The photo caption doesn't identify the players, but the article mentions the names of the "Colorado"'s 11 starters: Saraiva, Clóvis, Normandes, Marquinhos, Universo, Laércio, Naim, Toninho Campos, Gilberto, Henrique ("Pezão"), and Vicente.
Of the reserves, only Pablito and Modesto are mentioned.
Does anyone dare to identify the cast?
