Real Betis Balompié and Hummel unveil the first jersey made using oranges to highlight the value of urban natural herita...ge. “Green life begins in the neighborhood” is the new Forever Green campaign linking urban health with the preservation of trees—especially orange trees—as the lungs of local communities. The official commemorative jersey for the 5th Edition of the Forever Green Matches 25/26 by Real Betis Balompié is a limited edition that stands out for its innovation, sustainable approach, and a design inspired by Seville’s most iconic elements. Produced by Hummel for Matchday 25 of LaLiga against Rayo Vallecano on February 21, 2026. In addition, the jersey numbers feature a perforated design inspired by the texture of orange peel and incorporate scratch-and-sniff technology—a sustainable, 100% chemical-free ink that releases the scent of orange blossom, a symbol of the city, when scratched. The aim is for this awareness-raising message not only to be seen but also breathed in. This innovation has been made possible thanks to the specialized manufacturer STAHLS\\\' TPT, which once again joins the Forever Green commitment by also producing the names and sponsors that the players will wear. Framed within the campaign “Green life begins in the neighborhood”, developed together with the agency Officer & Gentleman, the goal of this initiative is to raise awareness of the role trees—and specifically orange trees, a legacy of Seville’s urban landscape—play in providing shade for streets and squares, helping mitigate the urban heat island effect, and representing a hallmark of cultural identity. They also serve as a fundamental pillar of the natural drainage system, efficiently managing excess rainwater. The design maintains the club’s green-and-white identity with a retro touch and a color palette combining the club’s corporate green, a darker tone inspired by orange tree leaves, and albero-colored details. Each season, the club uses one LaLiga match as a platform to place a specific environmental challenge at the center of public debate. Under this premise, the upcoming Forever Green match against Rayo Vallecano will mark the fifth milestone of an initiative that began in 2022 against Athletic Club, a match that laid the foundations with a kit made from 100% recycled polyester. It was followed in 2023, against RCD Espanyol, by a jersey paying tribute to the “3 Rs” of ecology (reduce, reuse, recycle) through a worn-effect design. The project’s evolution has continued to address critical environmental challenges. In 2024, in the clash against UD Almería, the focus was on responsible water management in the face of drought. More recently, in 2025 against Real Sociedad, the sustainability match highlighted the invasion of the Asian algae Rugulopteryx okamurae along the Andalusian coast, transforming an environmental threat into an opportunity for circular reuse.
