Founded in 1964, the team has long been associated with... the city’s steel industry, earning the nickname Oțelarii (The Steelworkers). Their traditional colors are red, white, and blue. Oțelul’s greatest achievement was winning the Romanian league title in 2010-11, which led to participation in the UEFA Champions League group stage in the following season.
