Fotbal Club CFR 1907 Cluj, commonly known as CFR Cluj, is a Romanian professional football club based in Cluj-Napoca. Founded in 1907 as Kolozsvári Vasutas Sport Club, the team has historically been a...ssociated with the national railway organization, earning them the nickname Feroviarii (The Railwaymen). The club's traditional home kit colors are burgundy (vișiniu) and white.
For much of its history, CFR Cluj competed in the lower divisions before experiencing a meteoric rise in the 2000s. In 2008, they won their first Liga I title, becoming the first team outside Bucharest to win the championship in 17 years. This victory marked the beginning of a golden era, with the club amassing 8 Liga I titles, 5 Romanian Cups, and 4 Romanian Supercups.
